Robert Louis Ridarelli, Bobby Rydell was born on April 26, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In the early 1960s he was considered a so-called "teen idol" along with Frankie Avalon, Pat Boone, and Fabian. His recording career earned him 34 Top 40 hits, placing him in the Top 5 artists of his era. He still performs as a solo act, and tours as part of 'The Golden Boys' successful stage production since 1985, with Frankie Avalon and Fabian.
